Connect Your AI to Live Market Data

Get your API key first at marketdx.app, then follow the steps for your AI.

Claude.ai (web) or Claude Desktop​

No terminal. No config files. Just a UI.

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Click Add custom connector
  3. Paste this URL: https://mcp.marketdx.app/mcp
  4. In Advanced settings, add your API key as a header:
    • Header name: Authorization
    • Value: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY
  5. Click Add

ChatGPT, Gemini, or other AI assistants​

Each app handles external connections differently — check for "custom tools", "plugins", or "connections" in your app's settings. When asked for a server URL, use https://mcp.marketdx.app/mcp and add your API key as the Authorization header.

You don't need to specify which tool to use — the AI figures that out. The other pages in this section explain what's available if you want to ask for something specific.

Credits​

Most questions cost 1 credit. More complex ones cost a bit more:

Troubleshooting​

The AI says it doesn't have market data — the connection wasn't set up, or the API key is wrong. Try the setup steps again.

The AI gives outdated information — it may have fallen back to its training data. Try asking: "Use MarketDX to check the latest on X."

News results look empty — news coverage starts from 2026. Older date ranges return nothing; that's not a bug.

Trade data isn't available — the trade flow tools require a Comtrade API key connected to your account. Ask your AI: "Do I have a Comtrade key connected?"
